CROWNE PLAZA JACKSONVILLE RIVERFRONT CELEBRATES THE HOTEL GROUP'S TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF THE
PGA TOUR COLONIAL TOURNAMENT
(February 26, 2007) The Executive Committee of the Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront recently donned their best golf attire to commemorate Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts' title sponsorship of the Colonial PGA TOUR golf tournament. Crowne Plaza is the first hotel brand to be a title sponsor of a PGA event, with a six-year agreement beginning in 2007. The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial will be played in Fort Worth, Texas from May 21-27, and will offer a $6 million purse with the winner receiving $1,080,000. "We are thrilled to be involved with this distinguished tournament," said Janice Daily, director of sales and marketing for Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront. "Our business travelers are largely golf enthusiasts, so it is an ideal fit for our brand."
Opened in 1964 as the Hilton Jacksonville Riverfront, Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront is celebrating the brand's one year anniversary in Jacksonville and the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation including upgrades to all guest rooms, meeting space and public areas. The hotel features 292 guest rooms with private walk-out balconies - many overlooking the St. Johns River, in addition to 12,000 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and an outdoor pool and sundeck.
